Nick Clegg: A Plethora Of Failures Never Seen...

0 comments Links to this post

With the speed Nick Clegg orchestrated events right from the election campaigns to now, it is obvious he knows ‘one thing’... and that ‘one thing’ was the push behind everything he did after the election... and that ‘one thing’ also was the basis of his decision. So what is this ‘one thing’?
As the Telegraph begins opening the cans-of-worms in Mr. Clegg’s own domain, the public may begin to imagine and understand this ‘one thing’ which the case David Laws has revived. The Liberal Democrat would be more than rubbished if it fails to act now. The accusation facing Danny Alexander following on the heels of Mr. Laws disgraceful resignation could bury the ailing Liberal Democrats... if the party continue to remain under the spell of Mr. Clegg and fail to act appropriately with these chances.
What is very clear is that Nick Clegg isn’t a good party leader for the Liberal Democrats at all. And this is that ‘one thing’ that stands out as an open secret which Mr. Clegg himself knows very well more than any other living person.
Nick Clegg inherited 62 MPs/Seats from Charles Kennedy who as leader continuously increased Liberal Democrats share in the Parliament from

David Laws' Expenses And Secret Life.

0 comments Links to this post
What would baffle anyone watching SkyNews is the mood the Chancellor of the Exchequer seem to be in while David Laws (pictured) outs himself and tries in vain to justify his fiddling of the tax-payers money.

Although I agree to his rights to privacy but not quite to his right to use his privacy to manipulate the public purse.

Anyway, the big issue here is not where the fish is, but the pressure that flung it out of the water onto the dry sand; the Telegraph. Though in what seem a genteel manner, the Telegraph circled the issue that Mr. Laws has been secretive about his sexuality. If he was still a member of the third party with-out the walls of a Tory coalition government, the reporting would surely have sounded different.

Jamaicans Stand Up To A Crippled Corrupt Government

0 comments Links to this post

The case of Dudas Coke’s community in Jamaica holding forth and defending him with their lives is one that speaks far beyond the problem at hand. While not supporting drug-running, a failed government is no different from a criminal and illegal business. This is so in so many developing countries of the world; from African to South America, to Asia... and the list goes.
The action of the community in Jamaica who has vowed to defend their benefactor is exemplary and should be adopted in places like Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Philippines, and the lot of other corrupt governments across the world. May be not by defending drug dealers or alleged criminals, but by standing up to these corrupt governments who are nothing less than criminals themselves.

Malawi sentencing of gay couple: A resumption of slavery

0 comments Links to this post

The Justice for Gay Africans Society (JfGA) condemns in the strongest of terms the sentencing of Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga to a 14years imprisonment by a Malawian court. This sentence is a complete equivalent of slavery and suppression of the human development.
Having spent the past 5 months in prison and the humiliation they have gone through, Steven and Tiwonge bravely and courageously refused to beg or give up. They were denied bail all this time showing the amount of homophobia and hate that even the court in Malawi and others who are supposed to uphold justice and equity habour in them.
“This is injustice and a restoration of slavery. The two men are consenting adults expressing their feelings to each other only. For them to therefore be prosecuted and jailed for 14 years is nothing less than slavery and a confiscation of their rights to freedom of expression as stipulated in the Malawian Constitution. The judge is wrong to say their imprisonment ‘protects the public’ when these two men did not violate or assault anyone through their action of same-sex love.” Says Godwyns Onwuchekwa of JfGA
We call on all good people of justice in authority to challenge this appalling case now. The United Nation, African Union, European Union, the Commonwealth and also the media should shine a light on this inequality and declare it wrong and unacceptable. May be it is time for this organisations to review their relationship with Malawi and all others perpetrating grave injustices such as this.
Malawi must not continue to enjoy the goodwill of nations like United Kingdom , America and other developed countries who spend millions in aid money if inequality like this one is continuing to be upheld. It is time to review the terms of relationship to make sure they are in line with fairness.
Steven and his partner, Tiwonge faces a life of uncertainty and possible untimely death should they be dumped into the prison for the next 14 years. The state of jails in Malawi is completely deplorable with lack of proper sanitation and no access to medical care. They have already suffered ill health and presently in a poorly diminishing state of health.
We therefore refuse this and challenge the Malawian government to step back from this injustice and the suppression of the natural human rights of gay and lesbian people.

Malawi Conviction of Gay Couple Is Injustice To LGBTI People

0 comments Links to this post
The conviction of Steven Monjeza, 26 and Tiwonge Chimbalanga, 20 today by a Malawian court today is a slap in the face on all that justice and fairness stands for. The two young men only expressed themselves and lived truthfully to who they are.

Having spent the past 5 months in prison even when they were not prosecuted and all the humiliation they have gone through, they have faced it bravely and courageously. Steven and Tiwonge refused to beg or give up; and the biased court refused to grant them bail; this show the amount of homophobia and hate that even the Magistrate and others who are supposed to uphold justice and equity habour in them.

It is therefore disturbing to think that this is because they expressed same-sex love, and not because they are terrorists or armed robbers or suicide bombers. These two men were and are not violent; do not possess firearms and have not been accused of any previous violent or life-threatening offence. It is therefore against all simple and wise thinking to throw harmless people into prisons for no realistic reasons.

Malawi has today alienated herself from the international community of countries and people seeking justice, fairness and equity. This case and the law that criminalizes homosexuality in Malawi is against the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which fairly grants respect of the individual to each human regardless of sex or sexuality, race or colour, etc.

The African Charter on Human and People's Rights also clearly adopts this belief. This raises a question as to the use of these charters and the organisations behind founding and implementing them. Malawi as a member of the United Nation (UN) and subsequently African Union (AU) has flouted there charters but no discipline or action has been taken by the UN or AU. This applies to the Commonwealth whose principles also states "liberty of the individual, in equal rights for all citizens".

This conviction is unjust, unfair, uncalled-for, unacceptable, cruel and enslaving. Every right thinking individual with care and concern should stand up again now and challenge this wickedness. We cannot celebrate the end of slavery when slavery is largely going in our midst. The Justice for Gay Africans Society (JfGA) will be doing all within our means to encourage people and governments to rise up to reject this injustice.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Please go to http://www.writetothem.com/ to write to your local MP (again even if you have done this in the past) to ask the new UK government to speak out against this cruelty. The former government of UK responded positively and apart from handing over, you will be doing an immense contribution to bringing this case back to the fore-front. All you need is your postcode, your email address and a letter to achieve this.

A generic letter is available here. Please fill in the necessary spaces.

Speaker John Bercow To Face Challenge On Re-appointment

0 comments Links to this post

On the 11th of May as the coalition talks rounded up and David Cameron walked into No 10, I worried about the Speaker of the House of Commons, Mr. John Bercow and wondered if his days (as speaker) have just been numbered.

"now that those that never wanted Bercow are here to rule, will he be remain the speaker? looming! so much looming. not over yet" - twitter prediction
Exactly (not quite) seven days after that event, BBC News has just revealed an unshielded plan to challenge Mr. Bercow’s return to office in what may be the first of its kind in a long time. According to BBC, the opponents only do not want Bercow back because of “his decision to ditch some of the Speaker's ceremonial dress”. Also their grouse includes his wife's pro-Labour messages on Twitter, and what they claim is his lack of authority, respect and impartiality in the House.
But we know these excuses are complete gibberish. Only a fool wouldn’t have expected this considering the scenario surrounding John Bercow landing the job. It must be remembered that it was, in a rather more dramatic event, the Labour bench that propped up Mr. Bercow during the election to replace Mr. Martins. His Conservatives bench could not hide their disagreement to his election to that job.
However, BBC report, not surprisingly include speculations that the now Cabinet members will support Bercow to stay put. That is believable because the coalition government is trying to portray niceties here and there.
That said and half-assured, Bercow should tighten his girdle for battles ahead as the frontbench will still come for his head in due course.

Episcopal Consecration Of A Lesbian Confirms Its Boldness

0 comments Links to this post
It is excellent indeed that the Episcopal Church of America has taken a further step of confirming that the consecration of Gene Robinson in 2003 was not a mistake but a rational and sincere just action. That act in 2003, although considered damaging in the public eye, has rather strengthened the Anglicanism brand and put it in a stage of its own.

The consecration of Mary Glasspool, an openly lesbian woman as the Suffragan Bishop of Los Angeles diocese, must be very welcomed among LGBT people of faith; but also to those who do not believe. Because being gay is not a thing of faith or tradition, it is a natural thing and which no human can take blame or glory. Gay people are found in all walks of life and in every clan, culture, race, nation, creed, etc. Hence, we advocate for fair and inclusive treatment, not just tolerance.

Gordon Brown Resignation Full Text

0 comments Links to this post
As you know the general election left no party able to command a majority in the House of Commons. I said I would do all that I could to ensure a strong, stable and principled government was formed: able to tackle Britain’s economic and political challenges effectively.

My constitutional duty is to make sure that a government can be formed following last Thursday’s general election.

I have informed the Queen’s private secretary that it is my intention to tender my resignation to the Queen. In the event that the Queen accepts, I shall advise her to invite the Leader of the Opposition to seek to form a government. I wish the next prime minister well as he makes the important choices for the future.

Only those who have held the office of prime minister can understand the full weight of its responsibilities and its great capacity for good.

Liberal Democrats Hangs The UK Parliament

0 comments Links to this post

Things seem to have moved faster today in the hung parliament tumult. In just less than 12 hours, the Tories seems to have churn out more promises than the exhaust pipe of a rickety vehicle. Income tax, referendum on Alternative Vote (AV) and a bunch of other completely useless lies that one would expect from a tricky Conservatives.
Then came the surprise announcement by Gordon Brown that he will resign in time enough for Labour to source a new leader. Like detonating a bomb, it got the Conservatives spewing promises from all corner. William Hague stood to declare that they will go an extra mile on electoral reform; really? Michael Gove backed that by promise of no income tax no earnings below £10,000... however, only a fool will take these promises with a pint of salt.
Yet in all, Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats remains the one faced with the worse fallout. His dallying with the Conservatives has cast a doubt on their liberal principle. The questions by Lib Dems supporters at this time must be the confusion about where to put their faith or what their party now represents.

The Amount Of Ignorance Within British Journalism

0 comments Links to this post
With the result of the UK general election, it is completely unsettling to see the amount of ignorance and folly that exists in the British press. So deep an ignorant, it is shameful to agree that these journalists actually feed the mainstream information system and direct how the majority of the population think and see things.

To make things clear; in the British democracy, a Prime Minister may not vacate his position after election without a new Prime Minister at hand to take over. To achieve this, under the ‘First Past The Post’ (FPTP) system of election, a single party has to win the absolute majority for that party’s leader to move in as the (new) Prime Minister. Where this party is the (already) governing party, the incumbent Prime Minister continues; where not so, the winning party’s leader moves in as the governing party’s leader moves out. With this system, it means that Britain may only remain without a Prime Minister for just

Cameron And Clegg: This Deal May Contain Nuts

0 comments Links to this post

As the battle for power rages on and various alliances and pacts are considered, the concerns about the outcome may be taken as the influencing factor. Thus party leaders will be looking at how they can reach a deal to bring on the expected process.
This being the case, the concern however, should be how that process works when it starts running and how it will be sustained. But more so, what ideology would lead and whose will be bruised in the long run.
The Liberal Democrats stand at the most crucial point in its existence for the present age. For all what it is considered to stand for, the two decisions that faces it presently seems set to either make or mar it. Whichever way it ends, the probability of mistakes surely seems high.
Coalition – or balanced, as SNP will say – government is a good thing to a large extent. It will be good to see parties working together but still, without a central nervous system of ideology; Britain is set to depart from a stable 5-yearly parliament to the chaotic, sporadic and erratic governments in mainland Europe.
Whatever the Liberals do, dumping their progressive belief for a stagnant conservative coalition may destroy it for life. But if the Liberals would succeed in de-conservativising the Tories, they will forever be idolized; but that is an unachievable dream.
With things not working according to the expectation, a walk-out from the coalition would be imminent because the real Tory will be revealed in as soon as David Cameron get into No 10 Downing Street.

Would Nick Clegg Go With His Head Or Heart?

0 comments Links to this post
The UK election result obviously isn’t a surprise to most of us. The voters sent out a message that is purely a confusing one. However, the beauty of it is what we always expected: Cameron did not win an outright majority; that is a big shame.

This year marked the mess-up of British politics with the damned TV debates. Many call it historic, but that definition does not make it remarkable or brilliant. Come to think of it, Hitler’s acts of racism were historic; so was the bombing of the twin tower in America, and also beheading of King Charles I and the declaration of a republic in 1649.

And for all the millions of pounds that Lord Ashcroft poured into the campaign and the media propaganda by the Murdoch press and Tory-graph, it is disappointing that David Cameron and the Conservatives were still not acceptable enough to get an outright majority. With what face would they be forming a minority or majority coalition government?

Late Nigeria President; Ambitious Or Selfish? RIP

The (former) president of Nigeria passed away 9pm, Wednesday 5th May after a 6 month docile period as president. From the time he was pampered towards presidency, to this Wednesday when he was also finally packed out, he had been mired in secrecy about his ill-health without being clear, open and straight forward about his condition.
The man who every one upheld as sincere and transparent turned out to be no different from the ordinary power-hungry Nigerian politicians as those who made him president. In his personal statement to the world, his agents and prodders have never failed to push the fact that he was the first (or even only) Nigerian politician to declare his assets. But when it came to taking the most transparent stand about his office, he preferred instead to lie in a hospital thousands of miles from home and not hand power over months until it was wrestled out of his hands.
Mr. Yar’Adua may have been sincere as they go but obviously not in any remarkable way. While he was away in Jeddah receiving treatment for pericarditis, the country he claimed to love, went deeper into a rotten quagmire because he refused to do the right

Peter Robinson, Husband of Homophobe Iris Robinson Defeated

0 comments Links to this post

This is one of the best results that just came in from the UK general election returns.

Peter Robinson (picture, right) is the first minister of Northern Ireland. He continues to support his wife's hateful ideology; even to the point of corruption, infidelity and deceit. But tonight, the people of Belfast East have sent out a thoughtful and untainted message that they will tolerate no such corruption.

Peter Robinson's wife, Iris Robinson (pictured, centre) stood down after the BBC exposed her infidelity with a 20 year old boy (left in picture) whose father entrusted to her on his death bed. Mrs. Robinson also claimed that gays are an abomination and could be cured. However, she is presently receiving cure for alleged mental ill-health following her exposure.

Peter Robinson is defeated by the Alliance Party's Naomi Long with 1,533 votes. In his speech, he stood down as first minister and handed over to her deputy.

How Unworkable Some Of David Cameron’s Election Promises Are

0 comments Links to this post

The Conservatives seems to have made one new promise every other day since the heat of the election. Like the smoke from an automobile exhaust pipe, the promises vanish as they come out and get replaced; or people actually forget them. It has ranged from the serious things as tax cuts to the utterly ridiculous: "build your own school". How pathetic?

However, the promise of a society where everyone is his own government should be worrying because it promises nothing but chaos. And literally, it translates to saying, 'we will man the control of power while we let you worry with your own problems'; nothing short of enfranchisement.

Vote Labour; Something For Everyone

0 comments Links to this post

The problem with the on-coming election is that a lot of voters have allowed their heads to be turned into a pod of pumpkin by the media... these people can’t think or make up their mind because the media thinks for them on whatever sells their paper and TV through sensationalism.

But the real choice is Labour, and none other. For the few mistakes that Labour made, there are uncountable benefits for us all in many other things that are marvellously well done to dwarf it. And Labour is not denying making mistakes because it is human to make misstates. It is also far more sincere and open to be able to accept mistakes. And Labour wants to do even better and correct whatever did not work.

See the few splendid achievements with something for everyone; Freedom pass, SureStarts, new and improved schools, new hospitals, equal rights, far improved gay rights, minimum wage, improved maternity and paternity leave, child credit, more students in universities across the society, more nurses and doctors, extremely cut-down hospital waiting list, leadership in guarding against the world recession from turning into worse, I can go on.

So when you let the media heap blames on Labour by using Gordon Brown's personality to fool you, you sure may have to take charge of your decisions and not let them influence you. 13 years of Labour government has indeed benefitted you more times than the preceding 18 years of Tory government. In fact, the Tory government left some not ever believing they can go to university even if it was tuition-free... It left many on benefits they cant climb out of for the rest of their lives; it left people in deep shit that no matter the cleansing, the smell remains. THINK! It left a segregated society with divisions on race, sexuality, class, etc.

However, with Labour, there had been something for YOU and its worth sustaining and taking further. Vote Labour for a fairer Britain, vote Labour for equal societies and dynamism.
