Mayor Boris Is The Spite That Inspired His Election Victory

No comments: Links to this post

On Monday I attended the Mayor of London’s Pride reception at City hall. It was a nice event. The view from the 9th floor 360o balcony was also amazing. So also was the fish and chips served. But I would be honest that the entertaining choir was crap. They damaged even the well known ‘Oh happy day’.

I have never been in the same vicinity as Mayor Boris Johnson let alone hear him speak in person. But this was it. Since I have always thought him not smart enough to be a mayor for London, I had my open-mind ajar to be convinced otherwise on this occasion. But did I get converted?

When the Mayor made his speech which was on a 3-or-more-page handwritten paper, it was more off-putting than ought. Mind you, I do respect Boris for his journalistic intelligence but to be a Mayor of great London, I sincerely state that he doesn’t fit.

Funny enough, I mentioned to my colleague after his rumble of a speech, that I hopefully got about 30%, thus I cant give you a summary of whatever it was he said. But I didn’t discuss this with anyone else in the event. So I was surprise when Metro reported that “Guests at the Pride celebrations claimed the mayor appeared to slur his words during his speech.” Oh dear.

Challenging The Untouchable - Well Done Sarkozy

No comments: Links to this post
"It will not be welcome on French soil, we cannot accept, in our country, women imprisoned behind a mesh, cut off from society, deprived of all identity. That is not the French republic's idea of women's dignity."

With President Sarkozy of France stepping into the front to challenge the most avoided truth about the burqa, it is time we all accept that and agree to talk about it.

In the first instance, I must disagree that this is a ‘religious intolerance’ issue, neither is it discrimination nor dictating to the women concerned. The logic is simply straight, if you can see my face, I want to see yours. It therefore simply becomes a matter of social inclusion, acceptance and respect by all and for all. Or would it be conducive for all of us to live behind masks? The woman behind the mask want me to tolerate her; does she tolerate me? It is unfair and becomes quite irritating. The simple question to ask is: if you want others to accept your religious beliefs (if), do you accept others’ religious or irreligious beliefs?

I have always maintained that in my own propriety, I wont engage with someone behind a mask. It is an utter nonsense that someone can masquerade themselves for not festival at all and wish others must put up with it. How sure would anyone be it is the same person you are dealing with every next day?

I think that comparing the burqa to religious items such as the turban, crucifix, etc, is as foolish as comparing time-travel or witchcraft to real-time physical travelling to live destinations. Foolish, isn’t it? Political correctness in this case has gone just too idiotic.

But as Sarkozy rightly put it, "We must not fight the wrong battle, In the (France) republic” (and the world I add), “the Muslim faith must be respected as much as other religions."

Michael Jackson - My Tribute

No comments: Links to this post
He was just the epitome of what natural talent could be... and he used it extremely to reach heights I don’t think he planned, leaving us with the best songs ever there be. Hate him or like him, you can’t deny his talent and for me, it’s not about the man, it’s about his exploration of his natural gifts. Rest in peace Michael.

In all my life, there had been rare moments when I cried for the death of any one. I do not cry just for death, but I cry only for what impact of happiness that person has brought in my life. And for my 29 years and exactly 11 months of life, this is the 3rd stranger I have cried at their passing cos his outputs leaves me wild with happiness.

I cried not because I am scared of death or anything... rather the opposite. I expect my own death every passing minute and that keeps me living. But for my weeping, I do because I can reflect and see a life that was fully used and could do more if continuing. Regardless, I think that this is best for Michael Jackson. Resting and getting away from the entire hatred, both real and made-up is better.

He has played his role. His are among the best songs ever there were. But not just his songs, the act and art that accompanied them were completely and always mesmerizing. I do not watch TV but would pause any time to be hooked at his ever wonderful performances. I love you Michael.

Controversies and accusations dogged his final years. The truths were and will never be unveiled. While it was clear some wanted a share of his money, some might be true but that isn’t an issue nor did it make him the devil.

The regret about his life is that his lies became the truth as this line from his track 'Billie Jean' surely said - "And Be Careful Of What You Do 'Cause The Lie Becomes The Truth" This is what his zest for a different look achieved for him which became a reality of his life. Because when you compared the picture of the real MJ in his young years to the final images of his life, you can agree that his lie of his looks became an appalling truth. But we all make mistakes and the best thing we can ever do is live with them until Death, the eternal decisive judge saves us from it.

I will miss you forever and I will learn not to delve into making any lie become the truth. Kisses beautiful one.

The Dance To The Invincible Drumbeats

No comments: Links to this post
Funny, isn’t it?

Last week, when the entire zealots danced to the drumbeats of the unseen multitude, Gordon Brown was the available sacrificial lamb. But it was clear, as always that the different fingers pointing forward were in disagreement. Thus the four pointing back on each of the betrayers were stronger and convincing.

While many people saw Gordon Brown as the effigy to direct their imaginary fears, a few of us stayed calmed and knew that their judgement was wrong.

Obviously, may be the Labour government have made a few mistakes, but it is obvious that Labour has done and benefited the country better. So it becomes foolish to throw her away for just a few mistakes when it is clear the alternative is like death to life.

Hazel Blear, James Purnell and Caroline Flint all made huge mistakes. Like I said in a previous blog, although it is their individual rights to decide or not serve in a cabinet, it is instead, their folly to resign over personality with no disagreement on policy. I saw each as a sham for their previous job. Caroline Flint was the most ludicrous.

Hazel rather surprised me. Of all, I least expected such childish behaviour. I was disappointed. Not just because of the efforts we have all put in for the election, but that she actually thought a leadership contest was good at this point.

But here we are. She has shown her maturity by her apologies. That’s what it takes to be mature. The ability to accept mistakes, take the right corrective steps and responsibilities thereof. I don’t expect such from Mr. Purnell because he would wait to claim being right whenever Brown steps down regardless of how and why.

Ms. Flint on her side is a complete disgrace. To work in the cabinet for years and just to realize she was a ‘female window dressing’ makes her seem completely idiotic. As if she has just woken up. But it was clear it made her foolish and she knows.

Hazel would be forgiven – I suppose no grudges anyway – but she may dance the real dance which will cost her more.

A Cheerful End For The Turbulent Friday

No comments: Links to this post
Today at Westminster village has been quite turbulent and very dramatic. Since Hazel Blear knifed the entire Labour party at the back on the eve of an election, the unfolding events that followed were rather dramatic, disturbing and dart-like.

One surprising thing though is that at the end of business, Gordon Brown is

James Purnell Was & Is Wrong In His Approach

No comments: Links to this post
James Purnell’s decision is clear. He is chicken hearted. And like I said in the previous post, he wants to appear clever by feeling he thought ahead; pity.

He feared he wont be re-elected at the next election and decided to take to his heels. For a brilliant minister as he is supposed to have been, it beggars belief that he don’t even have a policy disagreement but just a dislike for a person. That is so so so disgustingly childish and selfish. How can anyone?

While I do agree with Mr. Purnell’s right to or not be a minister, I think his quick analysis that the Conservative is the likely choice for the country is an arrant nonsense. Recent elections have never shown the Conservative gaining immensely from Labour’s losses. In fact, the right picture is that the electorates are not convinced at all by Mr. Cameron’s sweet words which tends to bounce from here to there like a celebrity trying to keep fans - no concrete policy.

It is also unconvincing that 12 hours after resigning, his websites has given no further opinion or have any mention his resignation. It therefore becomes clear that he doubts his own decision and must be very regretful or unsure of it.

In all, if the Cabinet and parliamentary Labour succeed in keeping the party together, the gains would be more useful than a distraction at this moment.

The Backstabbing Labour Members

No comments: Links to this post
One thing the Labour party has done well so far is the holding together in the centre and all round since the problems that be. That strong bond has meant that the opposition have found it difficult to penetrate. But recent events are giving them ammunition to re-launch.

Among all the resignations flying about, I think Hazel Blears’ and James Purnell were the most blinded and foolish ones. They are also very egocentric. Blears took monies she shouldn’t, so turning around to proclaim she is going back to the grassroots is a whole bunch of bollocks. She should have waited for the sack than trying to play smart and paint the Prime Minister bad.

James Purnell, on his front played the same self-centred game. But even worse is his silliness of asking the Prime Minister to stand down. To show how much his uncensored wisdom is, he did not consult anyone at all to reach his decision which in turn shows he is too narrow-minded.

But I think the Prime Minister would survive this or lose it not because of these self-centred people but because he will take the right decision when appropriate. Any leadership contest now will guarantee a lost at the next general election. And the surprise result will be that people like these backstabbers will be rejected by the electorates who trusted them because of their party. All eyes are on Labour now and her followers are hoping and wishing that Labour will continue to hold on.

I Hope Obama Did What Homework Needed To Be Done

No comments: Links to this post
Obama’s warm words in the Middle East isn’t really convincing to me. Although that’s exactly the steps I have wished the Western leaders to take long ago, his chosen words sounds more like wishes than realities.

Warm words aren’t the cure for the problems in the word, but tolerance. Its not about conceding to the Islamic belief, its about making Muslims understand that religion is a thing of choice and that we all have our individual rights to worship or religious the way we want. And same warning to all other religions too.

I do buy his lines that no one wants violence but his approach seems more imaginary than thought-out. Regardless, I do hope there doesn’t arise a repercussion.

Of course, Israel must be recognized and accepted and so must Palestine be allowed to germinate healthily and grow.

With all that must follow America’s proper respect of the rights of other countries as well as their sovereignty. America must also show example in what it preaches by abolishing death penalties, gas chamber, inequality based on sexuality, and cure its own home grown terrorism of ‘guns at the supermarket shelf’.

Susan Boyle - In The Making As A Puppet

No comments: Links to this post
Susan Boyle is now in the processing machine as the next social puppet. I do pity her for this and wish it don’t happen to her.

The first I heard of her was days after her first performance. Since I don’t invest my time in watching TV programmes, it happened that my music director has to tell the story to jeer up choir members, then someone in the choir sent the youtube link after at which time my web-curiosity made me click. Nonetheless, I liked her presentation and praised it.

But what followed thereafter was a big hype. She became headline, bla bla bla. And instantly, I pitied her. I pitied her because I know, like Jade Goody, she was being turned into a social puppet. She was being propped up by many invincible hands that will one day disappear and watch her fall like feather from above.

My heart already wept for her but my prayer is with her that she put her foot strong and follow it gradually step by step. But as always, it’s the money in the game. Like a gamble prize, she is being revered, pampered and treasured, until she is won, then she will be tossed and snapped at.

The worrying thing is that the media is advertising her, like those gone before her, for nothing. Come to think of it, what has she done? Re-singing another person’s song? She didn’t write it, nor did the first performance. Yet I and every other person agree that she did it well as a talent. But the praise and celebration has gone way over the work.

But that is all for a plan to use her to make money. Now the puppet life is being invented. We are told when she is in the hospital; very soon, the news will bear how she eats, what she wears, who she visits. And then, she will join the ‘keeping up appearance’ which then makes her a puppet and she will lose her real life.

Rubbish enough, why do we need to know that she is in hospital? Or other such trivial matters? There are millions of ordinary real people in the hospital for various reasons; she isn’t first. There are many people who have done so much talented work in various ways, especially using it to help others for years and endless time. Yet, the present generation of artificial values that lack regard for hardwork and patience, jumps onto the bandwagon to worship the drizzle and not the rain.

However, mine is just a rant. She will go on to be their next showdown. Yet my prayer is with her wishing her well all the way. It’s not her fault, but it can be her choice. The media is hard at work again to feed the populace endless news of Susan Boyle that aren’t necessary or of use to us. But like in the past, the masses will join them make the noise and then go to bed peaceful leaving the shreds for the victim to weep over.
