As Lehman Bros joins the list of institutions facing the crunch which seems to be alternating between the two world powers – Britain and United States; one thing comes to my mind. And that is the issue of rescue.
When Northern Rock cracked in 2007 September, our government tried everything possible to save it and all the argument agreed that it surely need saving. At the last count, it was the tax payers’ money that was poured in. Regardless of different political party’s opinion, there seem not to be another option but saving. To achieve this, it was agreed by all key players that if not saved, the economy would fall into that crack. We concurred.
But what comes to my mind is about the profitable ones. I think that these banks make too much profit and shouldn’t ever crash. But if they do, should rescue themselves given that they make billions in profit and bonus and share with us. Yet, those profits are twisted from us through (over) charging, high interest, and every excuse to make us pay for every service.
My suggestion; government should NOT save any more of them. If they crack, let them use what they have made in profit to mend it. The people involved in these cracks have more money than all of us put together; and they rarely pay enough tax to cover what they earn.

Bush and Macain.
With no doubt, it is glaringly clear that George Bush isnt in tune – or in concordance rather – with his party’s chosen supposed successor. They had barely shown public agreement and on opinions, apart from war and greed, they differ in very many things; well, not even totally on the war side too.
As a sitting president, he would have been seen campaigning with for his party, but the president seem quite oblivious of the on-going poli-tricks and seems to have distanced himself from Mr. Macain; but Macain on his own, seem to ignore the president.
While this appears to be an internal strife, the outward evidence has been quite a broken interaction between incumbent and his expected successor. And while the Republican Convention would have been an opportunity for them appear on one platform, fate played a good role to hinder that. They both seem to have enjoyed and appreciate that. Bush was quick to dismiss the convention which obviously he didn’t want to attend so as to stay out of the Macain business; thanks to the hurricanes. Macain on his part, must have sighed a relief.
If Bush can help it, I am sure he will vote any other person but Macain it seems. But what is the hidden issue.

Poverty Is Eternal; Tell Archbishop Tutu
Today Archbishop Tutu made another case about the quarrelling Anglican church. In his speech, he said the church should do more to alleviate poverty and stop bickering about homosexuality. Well said; but is that a reason to overlook homosexuality? No.
The archbishop also said he suppose God is weeping. But that’s also wrong.
On poverty, I think the church has done a lot and seems to do more than any other religious sect. The Anglican church’s Church Missionary Society(CMS) did a lot in alleviating poverty in Africa from the beginning and the entire church is still doing more. Although it is not verily so in the church the missionaries left for the indigenes. This is where the righteous Akinola may miss heaven for. The levies on church members in his holy churches seem to interpret heaven is for the highest bidder.
Secondly, poverty will never leave the world anyway. People can be satisfied but not become wealthy; even their bible says the poor must always exist. The world has always missed it. If we want a good world to live in, we should try to implement justice and fairness. The poor will survive as well as the wealthy.
About God weeping; well, that is alright if it does. But I don’t think it does. God would be a wimp for doing that than working. But God don’t really bother. I think its rather laughing its arse off at our squabbling and wondering what a bunch of idiots we are.

America's Presidential Election - Macain and Obama
The contest first set out within the two strongest American parties. But the torchlight has remained on Mr. Obama making him the most popular contestant and also making American politics reverberate in the remotest part of the world.
The Democrats didn’t help, or rather would be said to have ignited the ferocity that has seen 2008 presidential election heated like none so ever. Fielding both the first mixed-race (although his blackness is mentioned more) man and also a woman, they drew the attention of the entire world to watch with shock what the well known conservative country will do. Obviously, what we have today is quite contrary than should have come from America with her embedded moral standards.
Today, very unbelievable enough, the ‘black’ guy is a presidential candidate and in the fore-front. This is not the issue. Rather, the issue is that this has destabilized the entire race putting a strong character like Macain into enormous confusion and under great strain.
Macain still stands a chance when things are brought into reality but Obama’s stardom is already kicking against him because the present world is more focused on celebrity than on substance. So, it will now take a miracle for him to win this.
On the other hand, a radical change is exactly what the world needs now in all aspects. Macain seems therefore to be fighting for his life like a drowning man. Instead of campaigning, he is constantly throwing punches on Obama. Picking a ‘young’ ‘woman’ for running mate isnt just another of such avenue to keep afloat, its also completely unconvincing of, if at all, how much faith he has on himself.
Now to be clearer, I am not against a woman; not at all. Palin seems a successful politican but its still not convincing that Macain picked Palin if not for style. And now, the boat is rocking with America checking her out on morals although that will not stand long enough because, in the age of celebrity which we live in, morals has been thrown to the wind.
Macain tried to bring a woman to woo those who want a woman – hilary; he also brought a young person for those who want a young person and worried about his age. He is rather playing more financial than political business in this game and Palin has brought in what he lacks – charisma.
But we all are watching. I have my likes for both candidates as well as my dislikes. It’s a hard choice but I don’t have to make it because I don’t live in America so it doesn’t matter who they vote in. If it matters, then Bush was a very wrong choice although I like his crazy personality.
