Archbishop of Canterbury; What A Dissapointment?

No comments: Links to this post

Well, the recent slip by Rowan Williams has left his admirers like me quite stunned. In fact, I am more dumbfounded that it seems there is no analysis that can subsidize this shock.

First of all, as the Archbishop, this is a personal opinion that he should have kept within himself so as not to confuse his followers. But well, again, the deed has been done. In good faith and intention, yes; but obviously a most endearing fatal confusion.

Yet, I am so scared that one as Rowan would even dream of wanting a religious law leaked into the secular state we live. With Britain being one of, if not the most tolerant and having one of the best human right laws, I wonder why any person would want Sharia law to be an alternative or parallel, whether little or small.

I have always argued that those who come (or go) to live in a place must learn to adjust to life in such place. If anyone so much as to want to live under Sharia or use it in specific things, the person is quite free to leave Britain and move to one of the many Islamic Countries practicing the law. For example, people who want to cover up head to toe, should go where it is practiced. I think this country has tolerated a lot already?

Mr. Williams has disappointed a lot of us and explanations would be a little to make amends. Whether he meant well, or was ignorant of what Sharia is, or is absolutely committed to integration, his approach seem a stink and goes a long way to show the danger that we face due to the damn political correctness that has robbed this country of its foundation.

But only Rowan Williams must find a solution to this mess.
