The Reason - "My Strength And Stay"

No comments: Links to this post

Wouldn’t it be nice to walk down the same aisle again after many years? How lovely to know that not only has it been for good times, but it remains through the rough, tumultuous and even critical points. No wonder in the most rare times, the description was; “My Strength and Stay”.

Marriages come through times; of change, of celebrations, of re-alignment, or re-adjustment, of compromise, and many varied other issues. To keep through it and remain intact, needless to say in love is only for the very tolerant and willing; and not only that, but the humble.

Many people who know me in person (and even those who read my blog) always wondered why I’m a big fan of Her Majesty, Elizabeth II, but the answer is purely simple: she is a woman with dignity, dedication, and humility. Although I do not know the queen nor have met her in person, my admiration of her stems from the simple fact that regardless of her exalted position, she has gone through it with such humility and self-respect that makes one see the artificiality of the so-called celebrities cum stars. And as the queen and her lover of decades celebrated their 60th marriage anniversary yesterday, I ask myself; can this be me?

Prince Philip on his side cannot be said to be less dignified. For men, it is obvious how stormy it could be to be married to a woman not only in power but in a revered position. And so one can agree that it must have taken him restraint, courage and sacrifice to always be seen behind. But such is love. I admire him a lot for it. So when the queen described him as “My Strength and Stay”, it is vividly clear that she don’t only appreciate his support but she adore this wonderful man.

Once more, it is time to wish this noble lady the best and like Rowan Williams pray, that their marriage remain blessed forever. God save our Gracious Queen.

Musharraf - Seems Another Saddam In The Making

1 comment: Links to this post
From the beginning, I have always wondered what makes especially Britain and America support an army general whereas in various other cases and in many speeches made by the both super countries’ leaders, they have always repudiate undemocratic regimes.

General Musharraf is being greedy and like all political soldiers, is being drunk with power as they are wont to be. Although he claims to do all his rubbish in the name of fighting terrorism or extremism, yet acts of imposing himself on the people is entirely uncalled for. His work in fighting terrorism has therefore bought him the so-called ‘west’s’ support and in which he is now using to become a tyrant. Why can’t Britain and American see this and be stern with him? Why can’t they speak up and reject him outrightly? Instead they have been caressing his evil actions and playing games, running round a devilish mound and waiting for a miraculous proclamation that the devil has changed; unbelievable; it will rather explode like a vulcano. How quick they forget.

It was same in 1979 when then General Saddam Hussein took power in Iraq. He became America’s messenger of changing Iran, and France assisted him initiated his then nuclear reactor. But that has always been the devil’s deal making. In the end, and as is still glaring in our eyes, Iraq remained crippled under the whole evil the same ‘west’ unknowingly baby-sat.

United Kingdom and United States of America should take an unsympathetic position now, speak distinctively and denounce General Musharraf or they will live to fight and send in more soldiers for destruction and pre-mature deaths. General Musharraf has suspended the constitution many times, have himself confirmed president, sack the judiciary for upholding the laws, imposed martial laws and yet, the ‘west’ are still playing games thinking him a disciple to fight terrorism. Britain’s foreign minister has woke up this morning to call for him to ‘stand down in ten days’, but that is ridiculous and an absolute nonsense for a country that is known for her democracy and support of same. Musharraf was not elected by Pakistanis in the first place and therefore has no right to be there. America and Britain should call him to leave the post entirely; democracy is where the world should be not military democracy. And if they don’t act now, and say the bitter truth, but indulging this evil, he will soon release the real monster.

Unless he gets bluntly warned and rebuffed now, his end might be very regrettable as his past types have all ended. God bless Pakistan… and preserve her from breakdown and possible wars.

Stockwell - The Messy Job By The Police

No comments: Links to this post
Listening to Sir Ian Blair, the London Metropolitan Police Commissioner, it is quite simple to see that the death of Charles De Menezes is a very sensitive issue to us all. I think praise should be given to United Kingdom, from the smallest to the greatest for such openness and dedication to justice for this particular issue.

I am just one year younger than Charles and I do commiserate with his family for the lost and must acknowledge than one never knows the depth of such lost until felt personally. Obviously, no one outside the family can quantify the pain the family is going through and will continue to especially for this incident. The young man does not deserve to die, but fate, or whatever it was, has been ill towards him on that day. Looking at the events and the entire processes surrounding it, one cannot argue that it could have been anyone, even me. And from that point, it would also be appreciated that the job by the police is a very difficult one as such, we cannot feel exactly the regret they (hopefully) have for such a mess.

A lot of people think the police should go to jail (so saying…), or that Mr. Blair should resign, but I think differently though I accept that it was a messy job. Looking at it from various possible happen-able perspectives, there wouldn’t have been any less messy occurrence. In such a job as the police does, - which I will find difficult to sign on to – seconds and micro seconds really matter. They are humans and will never remain spotless. But lets tamper justice with mercy and hope that appropriate lessons have been learnt and be careful not to demotivate them from the tough task they are faced with in this days of terrorism, etc.

No one is perfect and mistakes occur in various ways. Ian Blair resigning his job might not prevent whatever looms ahead, which we cannot tell until it happens. Our individual prayer should be for us not to be the victim to whatever thing it be; suicide bombing, police mistaken shoot, traffic accidents, fraud, armed robbery, factory accident, etc. may we be saved from pre-mature deaths. Amen.
