Musharraf - Seems Another Saddam In The Making

From the beginning, I have always wondered what makes especially Britain and America support an army general whereas in various other cases and in many speeches made by the both super countries’ leaders, they have always repudiate undemocratic regimes.

General Musharraf is being greedy and like all political soldiers, is being drunk with power as they are wont to be. Although he claims to do all his rubbish in the name of fighting terrorism or extremism, yet acts of imposing himself on the people is entirely uncalled for. His work in fighting terrorism has therefore bought him the so-called ‘west’s’ support and in which he is now using to become a tyrant. Why can’t Britain and American see this and be stern with him? Why can’t they speak up and reject him outrightly? Instead they have been caressing his evil actions and playing games, running round a devilish mound and waiting for a miraculous proclamation that the devil has changed; unbelievable; it will rather explode like a vulcano. How quick they forget.

It was same in 1979 when then General Saddam Hussein took power in Iraq. He became America’s messenger of changing Iran, and France assisted him initiated his then nuclear reactor. But that has always been the devil’s deal making. In the end, and as is still glaring in our eyes, Iraq remained crippled under the whole evil the same ‘west’ unknowingly baby-sat.

United Kingdom and United States of America should take an unsympathetic position now, speak distinctively and denounce General Musharraf or they will live to fight and send in more soldiers for destruction and pre-mature deaths. General Musharraf has suspended the constitution many times, have himself confirmed president, sack the judiciary for upholding the laws, imposed martial laws and yet, the ‘west’ are still playing games thinking him a disciple to fight terrorism. Britain’s foreign minister has woke up this morning to call for him to ‘stand down in ten days’, but that is ridiculous and an absolute nonsense for a country that is known for her democracy and support of same. Musharraf was not elected by Pakistanis in the first place and therefore has no right to be there. America and Britain should call him to leave the post entirely; democracy is where the world should be not military democracy. And if they don’t act now, and say the bitter truth, but indulging this evil, he will soon release the real monster.

Unless he gets bluntly warned and rebuffed now, his end might be very regrettable as his past types have all ended. God bless Pakistan… and preserve her from breakdown and possible wars.

You pose the question:

"I have always wondered what makes especially Britain and America support an army general whereas in various other cases and in many speeches made by the both super countries’ leaders, they have always repudiate undemocratic regimes."

The answer to this question is that both Britain and America are motivated by self-interest. When it is in their interests to intervene into another country's affairs, they will do so. When it is not in their interest to intervene, they will not do so. That will be why they choose to stay out of this one. (I say "they" but I mean America - Britain will follow whatever direction America sets for it).
